Entech Pollutec Asia 2008 brings Thailand “3 in 1” environment technology events

CMP Media ( Thailand ) hosts Entech Pollutec Asia, Renewable Energy Asia and Pumps & Valves Asia with the support of local and international environment and renewable technology developers.

Bangkok – June 4 th , 2008 : Southeast Asia 's leading environmental technology event, Entech Pollutec Asia 2008, is fast approaching. The show will be complemented by the Renewable Energy Asia 2008 exhibition and conference organised in collaboration with the Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE) of King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi , and Pumps & Valves Asia 2008, where pumps, valves, pipes and couplings will be the main attractions. Combined, the shows represent the most complete collection of technologies for integrated environmental management and involve more than 150 exhibitors.

Lt. Gen. Poonpirom Lippatapunlop of the Ministry of Energy revealed at the opening ceremony for Entech Pollutec Asia 2008 that “The government has established a clear goal of switching at least 8% of energy use to renewable energy by 2011. There is also a 15-year plan to develop new sources of renewable energy to satisfy the overall energy demand of the country. These strategies are geared towards achieving the state of green industry, benefiting the Thai people and alleviating the global warming crisis. We want Thailand to become an exporter of green energy by that time. Entech Pollutec Asia 2008 gives all parties concerned a unique networking opportunity. It goes to show how important the show is as an international environmental technology event.”

Assoc. Prof. Bundit Fungdhammasarn, Director of the JGSEE, said, “We are participating as a key partner in the hosting of the conference at Renewable Energy Asia 2008 on June 4 th , 2008. This is the fourth edition of the show. As another informative feature of Entech Pollutec Asia, the conference serves as a venue where participants can exchange their views and experience on relevant matters, follow up on the trends and the progress, and, examine case studies involving the actual replacement of petroleum by renewable energy in Thailand and other countries. The lecturers speaking at the conference are from both the public and the private sectors.”

This conference gives organisations and businesses access to the most up-to-date technological and marketing information. It also explains the government's policies to help support renewable energy, and gives entrepreneurs an idea of how they can practically adopt renewable energy, lower long-term energy costs and actually go green.

Assoc. Prof. Bundit added, “Next year, the JGSEE will jointly host another global conference titled ‘World Renewable Energy Congress 2009 – Asia ' with CMP Media. This certainly indicates how the global community recognises Thailand 's efforts in the area of renewable energy. The conference will also give the Thai public and private sectors insights into the progress made worldwide.”

Manu Leopairoj, Chairman of CMP Media ( Thailand ) Co., Ltd., commented, “The government, businesses and the people are all concerned about the current energy and environment issues. Oil prices are rising and there seems to be no end to that. Natural crises are becoming ever more serious and violent weather conditions are now of unprecedented severity. This is happening all too quickly and it affects the entire population of the world. As such, we would like everyone in the industrial sector, educational circles and the government who is looking for clean and sustainable energy to visit this three-in-one show. This is where you can sample a whole range of environmental and renewable energy technology, as well as pump and valve products.

You, too, can make a difference before it is too late. It is also a pleasure to note that the World Renewable Energy Congress 2009 – Asia will be held here in Thailand next year and will be the first international conference of its kind in Thailand , demonstrating how determined Thailand is in the development of green energy. The same is true for Entech Pollutec Asia, which has been held in Bangkok for 18 consecutive years.”
