WORLD BIGGEST HDPE SUPPLIER CONFIRMED PARTICIPATION - (27 Mar 2007)

  Wiik & Hoeglund (Public) Co., Ltd., one of the biggest suppliers of HDPE pipe in the world, has opened a new plant in Amata City Industrial Estate, Rayong. The plant, which was begun in 2005, will produce pressure pipe for drinking and raw water as well as non-pressure pipe for use in sewage, drainage, electrical and communication cable conduits. Improved technology and product design has enabled the company to diversify operations and expand its business throughout Asia.

The company is the subsidiary of KWH Pipe Ltd., Vassa Finland, one of the biggest supplier of HDPE pipe in the world, started manufacturing plastic pipes in 1955. All their products conform to international and national specifications as per customer request. Wiik & Hoeglund (Public) Co., Ltd., Thailand is the regional center of KWH Pipe in Asia.
   
   

The company supplied HDPE pipes for various projects in Thailand and South East Asia area in recent years. These are some of the major projects: Pattaya Wastewater Project (Thailand), Batu Hijau Mine Water Dam Project (Indonesia), Chawpraya River Crossing – the longest Horizontal Directional Drilling in the world (Thailand), The Rama VIII Cable Stayed Bridge (Thailand), Siphon Transfer Pipe for Coloane Power Plant Station (China).


 
“This is the second time we will be exhibiting at Entech Pollutec Asia ,” said CEO Peter J. Van Haren. “Last year we received serious interest from over 300 potential customers who visited our booth. We had good sales follow-up and better results than anticipated. We think this year will be even stronger,” he said. “It's important that the benefits of attending a show like Entech Pollutec Asia are not just limited to the few days of the event. Long-term sales effects can go on for months.”
       
“Our main plant here is in Amatanakorn Industrial Estate and we have exported product as far as New Zealand, and United Arab Emirate” he said.
